GIS Expert

As a GIS Expert, you will be responsible for:

• Developing detailed work plans and schedules for all phases of GIS projects, defining scope, schedule, and procedures.
• Estimating budgets and staffing requirements for defined scopes.
• Evaluating and recommending hardware and software requirements.
• Overseeing field data collection and analyzing data for relevance.
• Designing GIS databases and analytical processes and overseeing their development.
• Utilizing spatial analysis methods to depict geographic data patterns.
• Integrating hardware, software, and data while assessing precision and accuracy.
• Troubleshooting complex GIS hardware and software issues.
• Performing quality assurance on GIS deliverables and processes.
• Evaluating GIS applications and developing complex GIS applications for internal and client use.
• Producing client deliverables in digital and hardcopy formats.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 13+ years of related experience.

Desired Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of industry practices and current GIS technology.
• Broad GIS knowledge, including mapping, programming, and database principles.
• Ability to design and maintain GIS databases and formats such as Microsoft Access.
