About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic GIS I&C Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for all activities required to enable the successful installation, repair, and fault elimination of switching systems. Your primary focus will be on the installation of high voltage systems worldwide for PGHV, representing PG in general through your presence and technical knowledge in dealings with clients at installation sites. You will adhere to project deadlines while considering the cost-performance ratio and embody the PG QA philosophy, especially in relation to the conditions present on construction sites. You will ensure that all installation and commissioning work is executed in accordance with technical requirements.

How you’ll make an impact

• Carrying out installation and maintenance work independently.
• Ensuring compliance with installation requirements and ensuring necessary accident prevention measures are observed, particularly in regard to work on live system components.
• Responsible for red-marking drawings/documents for any necessary changes or modifications during installation.
• Advising the sub-supplier's installation superintendent on planning and coordinating the work force necessary to meet the project schedule.
• Cooperating with the PG Project Manager to establish the status of completed and incomplete work.
• Inspecting incoming material for completeness and possible damage; coordinating material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers within their procedures.
• Issuing non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment within the PG scope of supply with the PG Project Manager.
• Supervising final installation and commissioning tests and PG installation completion documentation.
• Supervising and coordinating loop check activities and participating in site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
• Ensuring competent execution of all assigned tasks.
• Carrying out any additional tasks assigned by management that are necessary to fulfill job requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience with GIS is preferred.
• Previous experience with SF6 GAS-Handling and PGHV Transmission & Sub transmission GIS Product knowledge is preferred.
• Capable of using MS Project professionally.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
