About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic GIS I&C Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of high voltage switching systems globally, ensuring successful project completion and technical compliance. You will play a critical role in maintaining high safety standards and project adherence, embodying the company’s quality assurance philosophy while effectively collaborating with clients and internal project teams.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Carry out installation and maintenance work independently.
- Ensure compliance with installation requirements and safety measures, particularly for work on live system components.
- Update red-mark drawings/documents with any necessary changes made during installation.
- Advise sub-supplier installation superintendents on workforce planning and coordination to meet schedule requirements.
- Work alongside the PG Project Manager to report on completed and outstanding work.
- Inspect incoming materials for completeness and damage, coordinating material handling in line with sub-supplier procedures.
- Issue non-conformance reports for any damage or missing equipment related to the company’s supply.
- Supervise final installation and commissioning tests, as well as the completion of installation documentation.
- Oversee and coordinate loop check activities and participate in site meetings as required.
- Ensure competent execution of assigned tasks.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by management necessary to fulfill job requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Uphold the company’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions and showing care for colleagues and the business.
Your Background
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience with GIS is preferred.
- Previous experience with SF6 gas handling and PGHV transmission & sub-transmission GIS product knowledge is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of MS Project.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
