GIS Specialist

About the Job:

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist. The primary responsibilities of this role include providing GIS assistance to the project team in alignment with client and Bechtel GIS strategy. The specialist will leverage GIS technology (ESRI) to achieve project objectives, collaborating across functions to facilitate BIM/GIS use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop maps using ArcGIS Pro to convey geospatial information to various project stakeholders.
• Design, develop, and maintain data within geodatabases tailored to project needs.
• Coordinate with project departments for end-user solutions, including needs analysis, requirements definition, and application/database design.
• Manage GIS interoperability with other BIM/CAD tools.
• Assist in developing technical approaches for process improvement.
• Enable project sustainability initiatives using GIS solutions, including stakeholder engagement.
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with GIS requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of GIS experience, including relevant experience in design management for infrastructure projects.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficiency in GIS applications such as Esri products (ArcPro, ArcGIS enterprise/online), and related software.
• Experience in deploying web-based GIS solutions and customizing GIS tasks with scripting.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities.
