About the Job: The company is a leading provider of open-source software and operating systems, notably the Ubuntu platform, used widely in public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT initiatives. We seek a GitOps Engineering Manager to lead a high-performance team that combines operations management, software engineering, product development, and team leadership. This role requires expertise in Linux operations and strong managerial skills. The mission of this role is to innovate and enhance large-scale Infrastructure Systems (IS) while supporting the company and Ubuntu operations. We aim to automate foundational processes and provide open-source automation tools for our community. Our work spans the entire tech stack, including cloud and virtualization environments. Responsibilities: - Leading daily agile devops practices within your team - Representing the IS team to stakeholders and customers - Coordinating and driving internal projects - Mentoring engineers to develop their skills - Implementing structured engineering and operations processes - Ensuring team focus on priorities and deliverables - Meeting service level agreements for global deployments - Delivering quality managed services consistently and timely Qualifications: - Proven track record in software delivery utilizing infrastructure as code - Experience managing devops teams for SaaS or similar offerings - Understanding of testing methodologies and maintainable code quality - Technical proficiency in complex distributed systems and cloud technologies - Ability to travel twice a year for company events Nice-to-Have Skills: - Experience with Ubuntu system administration - Familiarity with agile software development methodologies - Experience managing distributed teams Work Conditions: - Remote work environment with occasional in-person team sprints - Opportunities for professional development with an annual budget of USD 2,000 - Benefits include annual compensation reviews, maternity/paternity leave, and an Employee Assistance Program Language Requirements: Not specified The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse workplace that welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
