About the Role
In this position, you will work closely with the Business Intelligence team, operations staff, and commercial staff in head office, as well as terminal teams. Your primary responsibilities will include gathering, organizing, validating, comparing, and presenting meaningful business insights to management. This role aims to improve operational processes and enhance understanding of customer behavior. You will also assist in new business modeling and planning, demonstrating an ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems. A strong understanding of port terminal operating systems, applications, and terminology is essential.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop business intelligence solutions by understanding user needs, utilizing appropriate data repositories, applying business intelligence best practices, and innovating with technologies and systems. This includes developing reporting and analytics solutions using SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.
  • Deliver ad-hoc data and report requests while analyzing data needs for users and projects, investigating and addressing data discrepancies.
  • Administer analytics and reporting systems, monitor system performance, and create and maintain user documentation.
  • Provide system support to users located in head office, regional offices, and business units.
  • Utilize project management techniques for business intelligence projects and services.
  • Conduct ongoing research on BI market updates, schedules, and services to ensure the latest BI best practices are applied and communicated with all users and stakeholders.
  • Analyze performance using knowledge of container operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identify trends and correlations, and pinpoint areas for improvement by collaborating closely with the regional team and business units.
  • Create content and plan and conduct training sessions for terminal user groups, primarily overseas.
  • Produce and circulate monthly newsletters among users and stakeholders, including project highlights, updates, implementation progress, guidelines, and BI news.
  • Understand and adhere to the company's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including business development modeling for new terminals and expansions.

  • Act as an ambassador for the company at all times, promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors aligned with its principles, values, and culture. Ensure the highest level of safety is applied in all activities, and understand and follow the Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
  • Carry out additional relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience analyzing business processes and interfaces, particularly in container terminal operations, including terminal operating systems (Navis, OPUS, Zodiac, RBS, etc.), and interpreting system documentation and data.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in developing Business Intelligence reports using SAP or comparable BI applications.
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with proficiency in relational database concepts and report writing tools.
  • Understanding of container terminal planning and operations processes, standards, and procedures, as well as operational and commercial KPIs and definitions.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively within multicultural and multinational teams, both at head office and across global business units and regional offices.
  • Strong organizational skills with competence in mainstream office automation, project management, presentation, and communication tools. Execute responsibilities promptly, reliably, and ethically.
  • Flexible and adaptable; function well as a team player in a multicultural environment and maintain composure under stress.
  • Effective communication skills; fluent in English.
