As a Global Lead Engineer, you will deliver and maintain IT applications and services to support the company strategy in the field of information technology. You will oversee the technical aspects of projects/features, collaborating closely with the Group Product Owner and Chapter Lead. Additionally, you will be directly responsible for the governance of Engineers across all countries involved in the squad's deliverables.
Job Purpose:
To deliver and maintain IT applications and services in order to realize the company strategy in the field of information technology. Engineers in this job category are tasked with ensuring top-tier technical principles across the project's scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a helicopter view to determine priorities based on context.
- Continuously improve technical expertise and provide support to the team during technical challenges.
- Create and maintain a technical knowledge base within the squad.
- Improve coding skills for yourself and other Engineers, junior and senior alike.
- Establish and enhance coding standards and practices.
- Master various frontend engineering languages and techniques, applying the best ones based on situational needs.
- Write tutorials and conduct training for team members.
Key Result Areas:
- Leverage frontend technical expertise to enhance engineering excellence within the squad.
- Work with Principal Engineers to ensure optimal engineering outcomes, focusing on reusability, optimization, testability, readability, and performance of the code.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner and Chapter Lead to track, govern, and implement best practices consistently.
- Consult with team members to fulfill both functional and non-functional requirements for IT product development.
- Develop IT products, conduct unit testing as per customer and internal standards, and review peers’ outputs.
- Design, build, and test IT products, ensuring robust functional, performance, resilience, and security testing, while automating these processes.
- Enhance the Continuous Delivery process.
- Set up IT environments, deploy IT products on infrastructure, and implement necessary changes.
- Monitor IT product usage by customers.
