Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement well-tested and documented software in Go.
- Debug and fix issues encountered by users.
- Participate in code and architectural reviews.
- Collaborate with the community and colleagues on technical specifications.
- Seek improvements to engineering and operational practices.
- Deploy and operate services developed by the team when required.
- Advocate for your product's technical success.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record (high school and university).
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, or a compelling alternative narrative.
- Experience designing and writing high-quality Golang software on Linux.
- Passion for and experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
- Professional written and spoken English.
- For senior roles: experience with distributed systems and APIs.
Working Conditions:
- Fully remote position with the ability to work across various time zones.
- Requires travel twice a year for company events, up to two weeks each.
- Collaborate in a distributed work environment with team sprints held bi-annually in person.
Additional Skills (Nice-to-have):
- Experience developing for Ubuntu Linux.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Juju, LXD, Microk8s, Snapd, Ubuntu Core, Ubuntu Pro.
- Performance engineering and security experience.
