We are hiring a Golang Software Engineer at any seniority level who is committed to high engineering quality and continuous skill development. You will have the opportunity to work on popular software systems and exciting open-source solutions within the Commercial Systems unit, which consists of five engineering teams. These teams collaborate closely with other engineering and business teams at Canonical.
Specific teams within the unit include:
- Billing Team: Designs and operates a Golang service for standardized and scalable billing processes.
- Contracts Team: Develops a service to manage contracts, offering a standardized capability and structured storage for signed contracts.
- Livepatch Team: Works on a service delivering Linux kernel patches to enhance security.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop engineering solutions leveraging Golang.
- Collaborate on technical designs and code reviews.
- Deploy and operate services.
- Depending on your seniority, mentor and provide career development feedback to colleagues.
- Advocate for great engineering and organizational practices.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic background (high school and university).
- An undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative narrative.
- Proven experience in software development using Golang.
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English, with strong presentation skills.
- Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
- Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in performance engineering and security.
- Background in accounting, sales, or sales operations.
