The mission of the LXD team is to build next-generation private cloud infrastructure by combining KVM, Ceph, and SDN technologies. We are hiring a Golang software engineer to work on the low-level Go codebase that integrates with both our REST API and the low-level C libraries used for managing containers and virtual machines.
What You Will Focus On:
- Design, implement, and document system-level Go code.
- Model data, design database schema, and implement data storage in a dqlite (SQL) database.
- Maintain code quality through static analysis, unit, and system tests.
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team, discussing ideas and finding effective solutions.
- Work from home with global travel of 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience in programming with Go and C.
- Knowledgeable in networking and storage technologies.
- Experience with two or more of the following: cloud computing, virtualisation, containers, distributed systems, open source community.
- Curiosity, flexibility, articulation, and accountability.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
Work Conditions:
- This is a remote position available in EMEA and the Americas.
- Travel opportunities to meet global colleagues 2 to 4 weeks a year.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English is preferred; additional languages may be a plus.
