Google Maps Platform Engineer

Job Description

• Partner with clients to understand their location-based needs and design solutions using the Google Maps Platform (GMP) suite of tools (Maps, Places, Directions, etc.).
• Develop and implement high-quality, user-friendly map applications using various APIs and SDKs.
• Integrate GMP with other technologies to create seamless user experiences.
• Optimize map applications for performance and scalability.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients throughout the development lifecycle.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the Google Maps Platform and related technologies.
• Collaborate effectively with designers, developers, and other team members to achieve project goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing applications using the Google Maps Platform (2+ years).
• Strong understanding of web development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with various GMP APIs and SDKs (Maps JavaScript API, Places API, Directions API, etc.).
• Experience with integrating GMP with backend technologies (optional, but a plus).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Passionate about location-based technologies and their potential to enhance user experiences.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Information

• Experience with web mapping frameworks (e.g., Leaflet, OpenLayers).
• Knowledge of geospatial data formats (e.g., GeoJSON, KML).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with mobile development (iOS/Android) for integrating maps into mobile apps.
