As a Governance Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of governance specialists focused on compliance queries, operations, risk and controls, process improvement, and training. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a high level of collaboration with various stakeholders, including customers, Relationship Managers (RMs), and compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management and Leadership: Mentoring team members to achieve their personal growth agenda.
  • Compliance and Ops Risk: Maintaining a high level of awareness regarding policy and procedures while fostering collaboration with customers, RMs, centers, and compliance teams.
  • Operational Support: Acting as the main point of contact for the staff segment to provide relevant support.
  • Remediation Projects & Training: Assisting the Senior Manager Governance in ongoing group and team projects and any thematic reviews as identified.
  • Customer Centricity: Ensuring timely and meaningful engagement with customers on assigned alerts and remediation tasks while maintaining high communication standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identifying key stakeholders and analyzing their needs and expectations.

Skills and Experience:

  • University Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics or equivalent is preferable.
  • External certifications like ACAMs, ICA or any other risk management courses would be an advantage.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the banking/financial industry managing business risk, operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in managing large teams.
  • Knowledge of KYC and financial crime risks.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience in managing internal risk forums.
