The role involves developing foundational knowledge and practical skills in electrical building services design through on-the-job learning. You will support the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical engineering systems across various built environment projects under the guidance of senior engineers. This includes contributing to project delivery from concept design through detailed design and tender stages while building technical competence, authority compliance awareness, and BIM-enabled delivery skills.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
- Placement or internship experience is advantageous
- Basic proficiency in design software such as Revit and AutoCAD (advantageous but not required)
- Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in building services engineering
- Good understanding of mathematics, physics, and engineering principles
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English (may be implied, but not explicitly mentioned)
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and development of electrical engineering systems under supervision, including:
- LV Power Distribution Systems
- Small Power Systems
- Lighting Systems
- Emergency Lighting Systems
- Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems
- Electrical Containment Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- UPS and Standby Power Systems
- Assist with engineering calculations, load assessments, and equipment sizing
- Contribute to technical reports, design studies, and specifications
- Support the development of schematic diagrams and drawings
- Assist with BIM model development and drawing production in Revit
- Maintain accurate records of design decisions and calculations
- Support project coordination and documentation preparation
