As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will engage in various software engineering challenges, both in open source products and commercial systems.

Engineering teams work in programming languages including Python, Golang, Rust, C/C++, JavaScript, and Bash, covering a wide range of technologies from BIOS and firmware to supercomputers and cloud solutions. This role requires excellence in academic performance and offers a path to significant contributions in the open source community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape the roadmap for your product during global sprints every six months.
  • Focus on design and user experience for developer tools and command-line applications.
  • Write high-quality, resilient, and performant code.
  • Engage with users and the open source community through code reviews and issue trackers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly and understand enterprise requirements.
  • Develop awareness of security in software design.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional academic record at both high school and university levels.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics or a related STEM discipline with programming coursework.
  • Confidence to deliver high-quality code in languages such as Python, Rust, C/C++, Golang, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Experience with Ubuntu or another Linux distribution.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Contributions to upstream open source or packaging for Linux distributions (Debian, Fedora, Arch, Nix).
  • Leadership and organization skills.
  • Presentation and writing skills.

Location: Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Remote)

Work Conditions:

  • Type: Full-time
  • Remote Work: Yes, with a globally distributed team.
  • Working Days: Generally Monday to Friday; weekends and nights are off.
  • International Travel: Required twice a year for company events (up to two weeks long).
