As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will face a variety of software engineering challenges within both open source products and commercial business systems. You'll work in multiple programming languages, including Python, Golang, Rust, C/C++, JavaScript, and Bash. Your projects will range from low-level Linux system components to cloud applications, security, performance, and documentation.

We seek candidates who are passionate about open source, have a strong academic background, and are eager to contribute to the open source stack. This competitive environment requires effort and excellence to succeed.

Work Conditions:

  • This is a full-time remote role.
  • Typically, team members work Monday to Friday, with a focus on productive engagement.
  • Engineering teams hold global meetings (sprints) twice a year for collaboration and career development.
  • International travel may occur for company events lasting up to two weeks.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficient in written and spoken English.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline with programming courses.
  • Experience with Ubuntu or another Linux distribution.
  • A track record of outstanding results and personal projects in technology and software engineering.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with upstream open source contributions.
  • Skills in packaging and Linux distribution contributions (e.g., Debian, Fedora).
  • Leadership, organization, presentation, and writing abilities.
