Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering efforts for the credit vertical (loans, BNPL, credit cards), overseeing delivery from architecture to production.
- Manage product and solution architecture, focusing on quality control and code optimization.
- Scale and manage distributed engineering teams across multiple locations.
- Develop a high-impact roadmap in collaboration with Product, Data, and Operations teams.
- Drive technical excellence, performance, scalability, and reliability across all systems.
- Establish and uphold best practices company-wide.
- Enhance team performance and engineering quality as a functional leader.
- Build new products from scratch and evolve existing platforms.
- Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent.
- Make data-driven decisions, balancing speed with quality, while optimizing processes.
- Navigate ambiguous environments, aligning technical efforts with business goals.
What You'll Need:
- Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams, ideally in the fintech or high-growth tech sectors.
- A robust technical background, with hands-on experience in backend systems, microservices, and distributed architectures.
- An ownership mindset for delivery, quality, and team performance.
- Expertise in product and solution architecture with a focus on code quality.
- A track record of building and scaling products for millions of users.
- Proficient in data-driven decision-making using metrics to drive engineering excellence.
- Exceptional leadership abilities to inspire and nurture high-performing teams.
- Experience working alongside product managers, data scientists, and operations teams.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, ever-changing environments with tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively influence across teams and hierarchies.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in credit products, lending platforms, or BNPL services.
- Background in a global, distributed engineering organization.
- Familiarity with fintech compliance, security, and risk frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with machine learning applications in credit scoring or fraud detection.
- Proven experience in hiring and managing remote teams across varying time zones.
- A passion for fintech innovation and familiarity with emerging financial technologies.
