About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Exchange Infrastructure to take ownership of the foundational layer that supports every the company product, including the matching engine, core infrastructure, third-party custody, algo engine, and API engine. This role is crucial for consolidating various engines into a cohesive exchange stack that serves multiple products and interfaces. You will lead a team of four to five product managers, collaborating closely with engineering management, allowing for rapid leverage and a hands-on approach to strategy and execution.

Responsibilities
- Own the product vision and roadmap for the exchange layer, focusing on the matching engine, core infrastructure, third-party custody, algo engine, and API engine.
- Lead and mentor a team of four to five product managers to establish high standards of product development within the layer.
- Drive the consolidation of multiple matching engines, beginning with US derivatives, progressing to international derivatives, and eventually to spot trading.
- Ensure that the platform is interface-agnostic, allowing all product teams and interfaces to build on a unified foundation.
- Define key success metrics (including p99 latency, throughput, uptime, and resiliency) and hold teams accountable for achieving them.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders across exchange and core infrastructure to manage migration sequences without interrupting live markets.
- Partner with Risk and Credit Infrastructure to allow clients to hold a single account for trading across all products.
- Anticipate shifts in the industry and adapt the platform accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
- Align cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, risk, and compliance, around the exchange strategy.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a senior product leader in exchanges, trading, or high-performance platforms.
- Experienced in managing and developing product managers capable of operating independently.
- Willingness to take a hands-on approach, including owning roadmaps and writing specifications when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to establish product vision and translate it into a long-term roadmap.
- Strong grasp of matching engine mechanics and market data architecture, particularly how low latency impacts design.
- Background in developing platforms for internal customers, with insight into discerning between bespoke builds and platform solutions.
- Excellent communication skills that effectively influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A genuine passion for crypto markets, market structure, and developing the next generation of financial infrastructure.
Nice to Haves
- An engineering background, providing firsthand experience in building or operating high-performance systems.
- Familiarity with both spot and derivatives venues and the unique market structure aspects of each.
- Experience working at a crypto exchange with similar scale, volume, and uptime requirements.
- History of establishing platform roadmaps that integrate with adjacent product organizations rather than existing in isolation.
