About the role
We are looking for a Head of Growth to lead user acquisition and retention for a consumer crypto product. You will work directly with the founders to set the growth strategy, identify the most valuable user segments, and build new distribution channels. The focus is on attracting and retaining users who meaningfully engage with the product—not simply increasing installs or sign-ups. You will build the growth function and take direct responsibility for its results.
What you’ll do
- Own user growth and retention: Lead acquisition, activation, and 30-day retention, with clear measures for acquisition cost, retained users, and revenue.
- Identify valuable user segments: Assess crypto audiences, trading behaviours, and markets to prioritise users based on long-term value.
- Build distribution partnerships: Develop relationships with wallets, exchanges, DeFi protocols, NFT platforms, and other crypto products.
- Grow through KOLs and communities: Work with crypto influencers, communities, and industry partners to reach relevant audiences. Develop timely campaigns around security incidents and emerging threats.
- Develop referral and product-led growth: Partner with engineering on referral incentives, sharing features, and other ways users can introduce the product to others.
- Test and scale acquisition channels: Experiment with search, sponsored newsletters, content, community distribution, and browser extension store optimisation. Measure results and invest in channels that perform.
- Own growth reporting and commercial outcomes: Track the journey from installation through activation, retention, and user activity. Use the data to improve acquisition efficiency and show the impact of growth initiatives.
- Work directly with the founders: Set priorities and targets, shape the strategy, and lead execution.
What we’re looking for
- Proven B2C growth experience: You have helped scale a consumer product and can show measurable results in users, activation, retention, or revenue. You can explain your personal contribution, the starting point, and the outcome. Experience scaling a product from hundreds of thousands of users to millions is especially relevant.
- Strong crypto knowledge and industry relationships: You understand DeFi, wallets, exchanges, trading behaviour, and crypto communities. Relationships with protocols, KOLs, communities, or distribution partners are a plus.
- Experience growing beyond paid advertising: You have driven measurable growth through partnerships, referrals, communities, influencers, organic distribution, or similar channels.
- Strong commercial and analytical judgement: You understand how acquisition cost, activation, retention, and user activity affect revenue. You use data to assess user quality and distinguish sustained engagement from sign-up volume.
- Ability to build and execute independently: You have taken growth initiatives from planning through execution, tested different approaches, and made decisions based on results. You are comfortable setting targets and owning performance in a lean environment.
