About the Job:
The Head of IT Platform Development - Modern Airline Retailing will lead cross-functional engineering teams to design, develop, and support enterprise-wide IT application platforms. The aim is to enable scalable, secure, and reusable technology capabilities across the organization, aligning with evolving business needs in domains such as Passenger Service System (PSS), Modern Airline Retailing (MAR), Digital commerce, and Customer 360.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a platform-centric delivery model focusing on the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise platforms from requirements and design to development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Define the long-term strategy for digital platforms and develop a product roadmap, including the modernization of PSS, Customer 360, ERP, and the Integrated Operations Hub.
  • Collaborate with internal product teams and business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into secure and reliable backend services, APIs, and integrations.
  • Manage and lead cross-functional engineering teams responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining the platform, focusing on integration and interoperability.
  • Embed modern engineering practices such as Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), test automation, observability, and DevSecOps into all phases of platform development and maintenance.
  • Establish reusable components, patterns, and service contracts to improve delivery velocity and consistency across teams that consume these platforms.
  • Establish platform support and reliability practices, including incident triage, root cause analysis, resolution coordination, and driving continuous improvements.
  • Ensure platform compliance and security, adhering to enterprise policies, data protection regulations, and secure coding standards.
  • Support modernization initiatives, including integration of legacy systems, cloud migration, and adoption of event-driven and microservices architectures.
  • Mentor and grow platform engineering talent, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and engineering excellence across delivery and support functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in IT Management, Product/Project delivery, and Transformation programs.
  • Experience leading large IT teams for software delivery and development within the airline industry or related MNCs.
  • Airline Industry knowledge and awareness of emerging technologies.
  • SAFe Agile development and PMP certification.
