This role is not purely managerial; you will directly contribute to building the platform, particularly in its early stages. Your responsibilities will include defining technical architecture, owning key systems, making technical decisions, and helping to grow a world-class engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to the development of digital assets infrastructure and services.
- Set technical direction while writing production-quality code and conducting reviews.
- Design and maintain architecture for digital asset services, including wallet infrastructure, custody integration, and exchange functionality.
- Ensure uptime and scalability as user and transaction volumes grow.
- Build, manage, and mentor an engineering team focused on digital assets products.
- Deliver key features such as wallet funding, crypto deposits/withdrawals, and real-time asset conversions.
- Lead incident management and implement operational controls to meet regulatory expectations.
What You’ll Bring:

Required: 8+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role. Proven success in building and scaling backend platforms, particularly in the crypto, fintech, or trading sectors. Hands-on expertise with wallet management, custody solutions, and crypto protocols. Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), security best practices, and DevOps workflows. Excellent communication skills to align business, product, and technical priorities.

Nice to Have: Experience with custody platforms like Fireblocks and staking providers like Kiln. Familiarity with regulated environments (SCA, FCA, MiCA). Background in building internal APIs and tools to support customer-facing platforms.
