Head - Quality Assurance

The Head of Quality Assurance is responsible for assisting the Group Head - ISAG in maintaining Shari’a audit excellence and governance oversight according to best practices. This role ensures compliance with Shari’a rules and regulations, following the standards set by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of Shari’a governance and internal Shari’a controls.
• Oversee adherence to Higher Shari’a Authority (HSA), AAOIFI standards, and resolutions from the Internal Shari’a Supervisory Committee (ISSC).
• Conduct risk-based audit planning to ensure all operations conform to Islamic principles, which includes reviewing Fatwas and monitoring the implementation of Shari’a controls.

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant / Bachelor's degree from a reputable institute/university.
• Professional experience in external/internal/Shari’a audit, preferably with a Big 4 audit firm or in the Islamic banking industry.
• Certifications in Internal Audit and Shari’a Audit (e.g., CIA, CSAA).
• 7-10 years of experience in the audit profession, with strong skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in both English and Arabic.
