Position

The MySQL Global Business Unit at Oracle is seeking a qualified Sales Representative to sell MySQL Database Service (MDS) and HeatWave (HW) deployed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and multi-cloud environments. This role combines aspects of both Field Sales and Inside Sales. The selected candidate will work to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within their assigned territory, which may consist of a combination of geographic, product, industry, and other customer/market dimensions. They will utilize inbound and/or outbound techniques to identify, qualify, and close new opportunities, managing accounts throughout the sales process. The representative will also collaborate with team members in business development, consulting, and support to address customer needs.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong selling skill set, successful sales track record, and experience with Oracle's product offerings, as well as competitive knowledge to develop solution proposals. They will engage customers directly or through partners, conducting onsite presentations to negotiate and close strategic and complex deals.

Responsibilities

  • Spend 50%+ of weekly time prospecting for new business
  • Regularly forecast, manage, and close 50-60 workloads in a fiscal year
  • Identify and collaborate with key internal stakeholders within the assigned territory
  • Develop and execute a 30, 60, 90-day territory plan
  • Present quarterly business reviews to management
  • Understand and effectively communicate Oracle's Cloud Value Proposition

Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree or applicable experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of direct software IT sales experience
  • Strong understanding of cloud services and competitive landscape
  • Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills
  • Experience interacting with C-level executives
  • 8+ years of relevant sales experience preferred
