Job Description:
Sales Specialists & Consultants are product, services, software or solution specialists that are responsible for leading pursuit in their assigned focus areas. They collaborate with and support Account Managers, providing specialist expertise within the sales team. This role drives proactive campaigns to build the pipeline and utilizes specialized knowledge and skills to prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Seek out new opportunities and expand existing ones to build and manage the pipeline in specialty areas.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors to strategically position the company’s products and services.
  • Develop pursuit plans and manage the pipeline in alignment with account managers.
  • Establish professional, consultative relationships with clients, understanding their unique business needs.
  • Contribute to proposal development, negotiations, and deal closings.
  • Support account managers by providing technical expertise and participating in C-level client engagements for complex solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • University or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Directly related work experience.
  • Proven success in achieving progressively higher sales quotas.
  • Extensive vertical industry knowledge.
  • Typically requires 5-8 years of advanced sales experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of products, solutions, and services, including competitors’ offerings.
  • Understanding of the industry and market segments relevant to key accounts.
  • Ability to negotiate and drive deals to ensure successful closes.
  • Leadership and initiative in driving specialty sales through prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals.
