Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily workshop inspections to identify unsafe conditions, equipment hazards, and non-compliance with safety procedures.
  • Report unsafe acts, near-misses, and incidents; assist in investigations and corrective action follow-up.
  • Exercise Stop Work Authority for unsafe conditions and recommend appropriate control measures before work resumes.
  • Maintain safety documentation, inspection checklists, and incident logs.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training.
  • Assist in fire safety checks, emergency equipment inspections, and evacuation drills.
  • Support permit-to-work systems for hot work, confined space entry, and lifting operations.
  • Promote a safety-first culture among workshop staff and mechanics.
  • Assist senior HSE staff in audits, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance checks.
  • Ensure heavy machinery (forklifts, cranes, hoists, lathes, welding equipment) is operated and maintained per safety standards.
  • Monitor compliance with Lockout/Tagout procedures during equipment maintenance.
  • Monitor proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or an equivalent recognized HSE qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in heavy machinery workshops.
  • Working knowledge of applicable UAE labour and occupational safety requirements, relevant local authority regulations, and OSHAD Membership.
  • Knowledge of Hindi and/or Arabic will be considered an added advantage.
