About the Role
Join our team as a Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Inspector, where you will play a critical role in ensuring safety and compliance within the rail sector. You will work closely with Safety Engineers, Safety Managers, and Contractors to enhance and implement Corporate, Contract, and Site HSE Management requirements. What You'll Be Doing:
- Implement the company and Project HSE Policy, HSE Plan, and HSE legislation and requirements
- Monitor HSE performance and targets, suggesting measures for improvement
- Liaise with the Safety Manager and Contractors for project HSE management requirements
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure the implementation of health, safety, and environmental measures and best practices
- Review Hazard Analysis, Risk Assessment Plans, and associated documents for key activities
- Monitor the effectiveness of hazard control measures, job safety plans, and work method statements at the site
- Perform HSE visits and report concerns to the Resident Engineer for immediate rectification
- Review Contractors' monthly HSE inspections and reports
- Conduct monthly safety meetings, set targets for outstanding issues, and prepare minutes for follow-up
- Review Emergency Preparedness and response plans, Permit to Work systems, Toolbox Talks, HSE meetings, statistics, and records according to project requirements
- Review Incident/Accident investigation reports, communicate learning points, and monitor action follow-ups to minimize re-occurrence
- Perform trend analysis for identifying potential hazards
- Review Emergency response/rescue plans and monitor drills
- Undertake other tasks and duties associated with the position as required
- Work on shift and weekends according to site requirements to provide adequate HSE coverage
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma (3 years) in any discipline
- Minimum 8+ years of related work experience in Health and Safety, particularly in Infrastructure, Tunneling, and/or Metro projects
- Recognized Health and Safety certifications, licenses, or training in UAE (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH, Fire Safety, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Dubai Municipality Codes of Practice or technical guidelines
- Must have a UAE driving license
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Relevant experience working in an engineering consulting firm
- Experience in elevated platforms, tunnels, or metro rail
