We are seeking an accomplished IBM Maximo Functional Consultant with 12+ years of experience in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM). The successful candidate will lead functional consulting and asset management transformation initiatives for asset-intensive organizations in Abu Dhabi. The role requires strong expertise in IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS), Asset Performance Management (APM), and MAS AI services, supported by proven experience in transportation and infrastructure environments such as ports, rail, metro, airports, fleet, logistics, and road networks.

The consultant will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, maintenance and operations teams, reliability engineers, data and technical teams, and senior leadership to define and implement effective, scalable, and AI-enabled asset management solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Consulting and Leadership

Lead business discovery, requirement-gathering, and process-design workshops with business and operational stakeholders.
Assess current asset management and maintenance processes and recommend industry-aligned EAM improvements.
Design end-to-end Maximo functional solutions aligned with business objectives, operational priorities, and governance requirements.
Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Design Documents (FDD), process maps, fit-gap assessments, user stories, and solution blueprints.
Lead Conference Room Pilots (CRP), System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training, cutover readiness, and post-go-live support.
Provide functional leadership, mentor consultants, and coordinate effectively with solution architects, technical teams, integration teams, and data teams.

IBM Maximo and MAS

Lead functional implementation, optimization, and adoption of Maximo Manage and related MAS capabilities.
Demonstrate deep functional knowledge of Asset Management, Work Management, Preventive Maintenance, Job Plans, Inventory, Procurement, Contracts, Service Requests, Linear Assets, and Planning and Scheduling.
Define organization, site, location, asset hierarchy, classification, spare parts, failure hierarchy, and maintenance master-data structures.
Support Maximo 7.6.x to MAS upgrade and transformation programs, including functional assessment, process harmonization, testing, and business adoption.
Ensure solution designs follow Maximo best practices while meeting business, security, reporting, audit, and compliance expectations.

Asset Performance Management (APM)

Define and implement asset performance and reliability strategies across critical asset classes.
Lead Asset Criticality Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and maintenance strategy optimization.
Design condition-based and predictive maintenance processes using operational, inspection, and sensor data.
Develop KPI frameworks for asset health, reliability, availability, maintainability, utilization, risk, cost, and maintenance performance.
Work with engineering and operations teams to improve asset lifecycle decisions and reduce unplanned downtime.

MAS AI Services

Define and lead functional use cases for Maximo Health, Maximo Monitor, Maximo Predict, and Maximo Visual Inspection.
Translate business challenges into AI-enabled use cases such as anomaly detection, asset health scoring, failure prediction, risk prioritization, and maintenance recommendations.
Collaborate with IoT, data engineering, data science, and technical teams to define data requirements, business rules, thresholds, alerts, and model outcomes.
Drive user adoption of AI-supported decision-making while ensuring explainability, governance, and measurable business value.
Conduct stakeholder demonstrations and communicate AI and APM outcomes in clear business terms.

Transportation and Infrastructure Experience

Apply Maximo and APM experience within one or more transportation and infrastructure sectors, including ports and marine operations, rail and metro, airports, fleet, logistics, and road assets.
Understand maintenance practices for mobile equipment, fleet, linear assets, facilities, infrastructure, and other safety-critical assets.
Align asset management processes with operational reliability, safety, regulatory compliance, service continuity, and lifecycle performance objectives.
Experience working with UAE or GCC asset-intensive organizations is highly preferred.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

12+ years of experience in Enterprise Asset Management, maintenance management, or asset management consulting.
At least 8 years of strong IBM Maximo functional consulting experience across implementation, upgrade, enhancement, or transformation programs.
Hands-on functional experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite and Maximo Manage.
Strong knowledge of APM, reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, condition-based maintenance, and predictive maintenance concepts.
Practical exposure to MAS AI services, including Maximo Health, Monitor, Predict, or Visual Inspection.
Proven delivery experience in transportation, ports, rail, metro, airports, fleet, logistics, roads, or infrastructure environments.
Experience leading workshops, documenting requirements, designing functional solutions, and engaging senior client stakeholders.
Experience supporting end-to-end project delivery from discovery and design through testing, deployment, and stabilization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex functional and technical concepts to business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Asset Management, or a related discipline.
IBM Maximo or IBM Maximo Application Suite functional certification.
Knowledge of ISO 55000 asset management principles.
Reliability, maintenance, or asset management certification is preferred.
Prior UAE or GCC delivery experience and familiarity with regional stakeholder environments.
