The IBM Systems Lab Services organization is seeking an IT Management Consultant with deep expertise in IBM Z Systems. In this role, you will lead and deliver pre-sales and post-sales client engagements that enable the adoption of IBM Z Systems.
Your Role and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering IBM solution design, architecture, and implementation of IBM Z solutions.
- Conducting consulting assessments and workshops for IBM Z Systems.
- Traveling to customer sites for timely execution of implementation projects as per the Scope of Work, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Nurturing long-lasting relationships with clients and internal teams based on understanding their current and future needs.
- Planning, installing, implementing, and integrating new, complex solutions related to IBM Z Systems.
- Problem determination and skills transfer to clients, business partners, and IBMers.
- Documenting services engagement at customer sites or at IBM locations.
- Identifying service engagement opportunities and executing service projects effectively.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in z/OS and z/VM.
- Experience in installation, upgrade, configuration, and testing of IBM Z operating systems and related software.
- Good understanding of z/OS high availability and Copy Services technology.
- Strong skills in one or more of the following: Networking, Storage, Security, CICS, Linux, WebSphere MQ Series, z/VM, zSecurity, RACF, Sysplex, DB2, and system programming.
Education and Experience
- At least 10 years in the IT industry, with a minimum of 5 years in Advising Technical Solution Sales.
- At least 3 years in Solution Integration and security with advanced Z Systems technical skills.
- Knowledge of GDPS®, PPRC, and disaster recovery procedures is preferred.
