Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Systems Lab Services organization is on the lookout for an individual who will be tasked with designing, architecting, and implementing IBM Z solutions. Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting consulting assessments and workshops for IBM Z Systems.
- Traveling to customer sites and executing implementation projects according to the agreed Scope of Work, maintaining a focus on client satisfaction.
- Encouraging a collaborative 'One Team' approach and building enduring relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Planning, installing, implementing, and integrating new solutions related to IBM Z Systems.
- Determining problems, facilitating skills transfer to clients and partners, and documenting services engagements.
- Engaging directly with customers, sales teams, and development teams to identify service opportunities and drive client satisfaction.
- Creating new service offerings that meet market demands while ensuring high client satisfaction and positive feedback.
- Continuously assessing and enhancing your technical and client-facing skills to provide increased value.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Engineering or equivalent degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in z/OS and z/VM.
- Experience in installing, upgrading, configuring, and testing the IBM Z operating system and related software.
- Knowledge of z/OS high availability and Copy Services technology including Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, and GDPS.
- Proficiency in one or more areas such as Networking, Storage, Security, CICS, Linux and WebSphere MQ Series, z/VM system programming, and Linux on z Systems administration.
Additional Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in the IT industry with at least 5 years in advising technical solution sales and 3 years in solution integration.
- Experience with GDPS®, PPRC, and DR procedures, as well as practical knowledge of SMP/E, assembler, JCL, REXX, and CLIST, is preferred.
- Familiarity with IBM System Automation and Red Hat Ansible is a plus.
