What You'll Be Doing:

  • Delivering technically excellent I&C engineering designs and consultancy services for water industry projects.
  • Developing design drawings, specifications, technical design reports, calculations, P&IDs, instrument selection, operation and control philosophy, I/O lists, interlock and logic diagrams, loop diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, FDS, detailed layouts, cable containments, shielding, and all other associated documents.
  • Designing control systems, including SCADA, PLC, RTU, system architecture, industrial network, and functional specifications, while being comfortable in designing, configuring, and integrating these systems.
  • Providing control system design recommendations, programming, schematic design, and troubleshooting to ensure high system availability.
  • Preparing tender documentation, including project scope of works (SOW) and particular specifications.
  • Assisting the QS team in preparation of the bill of quantities (BOQ) and reviewing/commenting on the final BOQ.
  • Responding to tender queries from bidders and assisting in the tender evaluation process.
  • Reviewing detailed design, IFC drawings, material submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentation.
  • Providing support to field engineering to resolve contractor technical queries.
  • Managing work to be in accordance with agreed-upon scope, budget, and schedule; tracking and managing task budgets, schedules, and projects.
  • Mentoring and facilitating the technical development of junior engineers.
  • Participating in risk identification/hazard analysis and HAZOP.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Engineering degree in Instrumentation & Controls, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Mechatronics from an accredited university; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of significant I&C engineering experience with water/wastewater infrastructure treatment plants and/or pumping station or substation automation projects in the UAE or GCC.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards, Abu Dhabi Authority Standards, and best practices related to instrumentation and control systems.
  • Good knowledge of digitalization and relevant technologies.
  • Experience working with different technologies in communication and awareness of interoperability with various communication protocols.
  • Experience in the design of telecom systems for utility projects, including fiber optic cable (FOC) and network design.
  • Experience in design of OLTE (SDH/MUX), network switches/routers, MPLS, IP telephony, and hotline systems.
  • Experience in physical security system design.
  • Experience in operation technology cybersecurity, security architecture, secure system design, and knowledge of security architecture principles, cryptography, secure coding practices, network and cloud security, and secure SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience with threat modeling tools and familiarity with cybersecurity standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
