As the focal technical engineer for all tower-related ICT systems, you will oversee the entire lifecycle from design and construction to testing, commissioning, handover, and early operations support. Your role is crucial in ensuring that the ATCT communication and data infrastructure meets mission-critical standards suitable for air navigation and airport operations.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Review design documents, drawings, method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, interface matrices, and technical submissions related to ATCT ICT systems.
  • Coordinate the delivery of structured cabling systems, fiber backbone, LAN/WAN connectivity, network room setups, switch/server configurations, network architecture, wireless services, timing/synchronization interfaces, IP telephony, and operator work position data connectivity.
  • Monitor integration requirements between ICT systems and other airport/tower systems, including access control, CCTV, public address, voice communication, meteorological systems, BMS, fire alarms, UPS monitoring, and security platforms.
  • Participate in technical reviews to ensure compliance with client standards, aviation authority criteria, cyber-security requirements, redundancy philosophy, maintainability needs, and operational constraints of a 24/7 critical facility.
  • Review testing and commissioning procedures, including FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, integrated systems testing, cutover plans, failover testing, redundancy verification, and operational readiness demonstrations.
  • Support site inspections to verify that installation quality, labeling, grounding/bonding, and as-built records meet approved standards.
  • Track design and construction risks, identify interface gaps, issue technical comments, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the development and review of ICT O&M manuals, SOPs, asset registers, preventive maintenance requirements, spare parts lists, training plans, and handover dossiers.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including airport operators, ATC users, digital/cyber-security teams, consultants, contractors, and authority representatives.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, issue logs, and engineering recommendations for management decision-making.
  • Oversee structured cabling systems (copper and fiber), LAN switching infrastructure, network architecture, integration, cybersecurity, and physical layer management.
  • Ensure ATCT data connectivity for operational systems and operator positions, IP telephony/voice and data interfaces supporting tower operations, and approved wireless access services.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in ICT Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics/Communications Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in ICT engineering, ideally within airports, air navigation facilities, transportation, mission-critical buildings, or other high-availability infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience with design reviews, site supervision, testing, commissioning, and handover of ICT systems.
  • Solid understanding of structured cabling, fiber systems, IP-based networks, and redundancy concepts.
  • Strong airport, aviation, or critical facility project experience preferred.
  • Proficient in active and passive network infrastructure, LAN/WAN architecture, and network resilience concepts.
  • Familiar with ICT installation practices, containment coordination, grounding/bonding interfaces, and equipment accommodation requirements.
  • Knowledge of testing tools and practices for copper/fiber certification and network connectivity validation.
  • Awareness of cyber-security coordination requirements for operational technology and airport systems environments.
  • Ability to interpret project specifications, standards, interface control documents, risk registers, and testing protocols.
