Key Responsibilities
As an IDS Simulator Instructor WSO, you will report to the RSAF appointed Simulator Officer and will be responsible for:
- Conducting ground school for all RSAF Tornado courses.
- Delivering continuation training lectures based on operational requirements for aircrews.
- Potentially acting as a Standardisation Evaluation Flight Examiner to conduct simulator and other ground evaluations.
- Serving as a subject matter expert for other associated duties when required.
- Managing flight planning, including normal and advanced equipment.
- Briefing, conducting, and debriefing all missions.
- Planning missions for all flight phases to ensure successful execution, including desired tactics and employment options/techniques.
- Operating associated simulators and cockpit trainers, including egress training.
- Training selected RSAF personnel to become qualified simulator instructors.
Key Requirements
To be considered for the IDS Simulator Instructor WSO role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Recent experience as a Tornado flight lead WSO with at least 250 hours of instructor time in any fighter aircraft.
- More than 1000 hours as a combat-ready aircrew.
- Graduation from an academic instructor course or equivalent.
Note: Qualification shortfall may be subject to customer waiver.
