The Industrial Engineer – CTC is responsible for overseeing CTC operations and leading the team by effectively coordinating workloads and providing the necessary support to ensure successful delivery. This role involves monitoring operational performance, addressing issues proactively, and ensuring that Tool Room targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved to meet customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure sufficient stock level of consumables and materials required for daily production.
  • Analyze production data to identify systemic issues, inefficiencies in tool utilization, and improvement opportunities.
  • Optimize machining strategies, cutting parameters, and tooling concepts together with the manufacturing team.
  • Monitor consumption rates, tool life performance, and identify abnormal trends.
  • Optimize tool life through improved machining strategies, process stability, and vendor collaboration.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives through vendor negotiations, consolidated purchasing, tool standardization, and usage optimization.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to consumables cost per part, tool life, and consumption efficiency.
  • Ensure the Tool Pre-setter, Balancer, and Shrink fit machine data are correct and troubleshoot if any issue occurs.
  • Analyze historical data and consumption trends to forecast future inventory requirements.
  • Implement efficient stock management systems and processes to minimize wastage and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare regular inventory reports to track and identify high consumption areas.
  • Manage and ensure timely deliveries and resolve any supply chain-related issues.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to enhance inventory management efficiency.
  • Ensure equipment is within calibration date and all systems are functioning correctly for the equipment within CTC.
  • Provide reactive support to resolve tool inventory, stock, and technical problems.
  • Ensure that team members follow defined CTC procedures and comply with quality requirements.
  • Select, raise requests for ordering, and purchasing tools to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
  • Interface with Production Scheduling to determine necessary demand of tool stock and consumption.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience with cutting tools and tool pre-setting knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
