We are looking for an Information Systems Architect to define best practices in infrastructure as code at a global scale. This role will significantly influence the infrastructure utilized by millions of devices running Ubuntu. As a member of the Information Systems team, you will oversee IT operations that include designing hardware and software implementations within a modern operational framework.
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote position with twice-annual travel to company events totaling around 4 weeks per year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement a holistic vision for world-class internal cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain technical design roadmaps for best practices that improve reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with software development teams to establish standard operations.
- Provide insights and guidance on technology, reliability, and resilience.
- Lead technical decisions for self-service product solutions.
- Automate operations for large enterprises while considering complex distributed systems.
- Analyze incidents to implement structural improvements.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic record with a technical undergraduate degree or a compelling alternative narrative.
- Strong confidence and communication skills, especially in English.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud computing concepts and Linux networking.
- Experience in dealing with production outages and incident responses.
- Passion for open-source solutions, particularly Ubuntu or Debian.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Background in modern software engineering practices.
- Experience with enterprise Linux servers at scale.
