About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Architect to lead the architecture, design, and technical governance of enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions. This is a hands-on architecture role combining infrastructure design, compute, virtualization, storage, networking, backup, cloud, security, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and technical governance. The ideal candidate will have strong experience translating business and application requirements into scalable, secure, resilient, and well-governed infrastructure solutions, supported by comprehensive High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end infrastructure architecture and solution design based on business, application, security, availability, performance, and operational requirements.
Develop and maintain High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
Translate business and application requirements into infrastructure architecture, technical specifications, sizing, configurations, and implementation requirements.
Design solutions covering compute, virtualization, storage, backup, networking, operating systems, databases, cloud, security, monitoring, and management platforms.
Define infrastructure topology, component interactions, dependencies, integration points, and deployment patterns.
Produce architecture diagrams covering logical and physical architecture, network connectivity, security zones, data flows, HA, and DR.
Perform infrastructure sizing and capacity planning for CPU, memory, storage, network bandwidth, IOPS, backup capacity, and future growth.
Define High Availability, Disaster Recovery, backup, replication, RPO, and RTO requirements.
Design infrastructure solutions using technologies such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Server, Linux, SAN/NAS/Object Storage, enterprise backup platforms, and cloud services.
Evaluate infrastructure technologies and provide technical recommendations based on requirements, scalability, compatibility, performance, and supportability.
Review infrastructure BOM/BOQ and validate technical specifications, quantities, capacity, and licensing dependencies.
Work closely with application, security, network, database, cloud, vendor, OEM, and implementation teams.
Define infrastructure prerequisites and dependencies for application deployments and migrations.
Identify technical risks, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and key architecture decisions.
Ensure solutions follow security requirements, enterprise architecture standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Review implementation designs and ensure deployed solutions align with approved architecture and design documentation.
Provide technical governance throughout implementation, migration, testing, commissioning, and transition to operations.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex infrastructure design and integration issues.
Define operational requirements for monitoring, alerting, patching, backup, configuration management, capacity management, and infrastructure lifecycle management.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Typically 7+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure engineering, infrastructure architecture, or solution design.
Minimum 3+ years in an Infrastructure Architect, Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or similar role.
Strong hands-on experience designing enterprise infrastructure solutions.
Strong experience developing HLD and LLD documentation, technical specifications, and architecture diagrams.
Experience across compute, virtualization, storage, networking, backup, cloud, security, and disaster recovery.
Experience with infrastructure sizing and capacity planning.
Experience designing High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including RPO and RTO requirements.
Experience reviewing and validating infrastructure BOM/BOQ and technical specifications.
Experience supporting infrastructure implementation, migration, testing, and transition activities.
Strong understanding of infrastructure security, scalability, availability, performance, and operational requirements.
Strong technical problem-solving and architecture decision-making skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Relevant Cloud, VMware, Microsoft, or Infrastructure certification.
ITIL 4 Foundation or equivalent knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in a relevant technical field.
TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework certification.
Experience designing and delivering large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments.
Experience working with major infrastructure OEMs and technology vendors.
Experience providing technical architecture governance across the full infrastructure design and implementation lifecycle.
