Key Responsibilities:
- Blockchain Node Management: Architect, deploy, and maintain diverse blockchain nodes (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana) using IaC principles.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructure for blockchain services using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Observability & Monitoring: Develop monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the health and performance of all blockchain nodes using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
- Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes to enhance node operations.
- Security & Compliance: Apply best practices for network and node security, including management of RPC endpoints and validation keys.
- CI/CD: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment and monitoring of node software upgrades.
- Collaboration: Work closely with trading and research teams to integrate new chains and optimize existing ones.
- Disaster Recovery: Design and implement backup strategies for business continuity of mission-critical infrastructure.
Background and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps roles.
- Demonstrable experience managing blockchain nodes and a deep understanding of the ecosystem.
- Strong experience in a trading, crypto, or TradFi environment is highly desirable but not essential.
Competencies and Personality Traits:
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficient in Linux administration.
- Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, Ansible) and programming (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Familiar with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC, Load Balancers, DNS, Firewalls).
- Knowledge of GitOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiar with various blockchain architectures (Proof-of-Stake, Proof-of-Work) and types (full nodes, validators).
- Good understanding of security practices within the blockchain ecosystem.
