Responsibilities
As a Linux Systems Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring maintaining operational conditions and security (MCO/MCS) of Linux infrastructures
- Administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting Linux systems and services
- Performing updates, patching, and hardening of systems and applications
- Analyzing and resolving operational incidents and contributing to the improvement of service availability
- Participating in the implementation and maintenance of backup and restoration solutions
- Controlling the proper functioning of backups and participating in restoration tests
- Participating in the implementation and enhancement of supervision and monitoring solutions
- Analyzing alerts and anticipating potential performance or availability issues
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining new software components and technical solutions
- Engaging in industrialization and automation projects of environments
- Contributing to projects related to virtualization, containerization, and infrastructure evolution
- Assisting in the implementation and testing of PCA/PRA devices
- Contributing to the securing of systems and services and addressing vulnerabilities
- Participating in the continuous improvement of infrastructures and proposing tailored solutions
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation of environments and procedures
- Keeping up with technological changes regarding the Linux ecosystem, infrastructures, and cybersecurity
Your Profile
We are looking for a candidate who is curious, structured, rigorous, and autonomous, with solid experience in Linux system administration. You have a preference for complex technical environments and are capable of addressing both RUN and MCO issues as well as development and industrialization projects. Your ability to analyze problems, propose improvements, and document your work will be particularly important for this role.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) to Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Computer Science, Systems and Networks or equivalent training
Experience
- Minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience in a similar role in system administration or engineering
- Strong professional experience with Linux environments
- Experience in environments with high stakes in availability and security is preferred
Technical Skills
- Excellent mastery of Linux environments, particularly Debian / Ubuntu
- Experience in administration and operations of Linux systems
- Knowledge of virtualization, especially VMware
- Good understanding of network and security environments: DNS, firewalls, certificates, secure protocols, etc.
- Experience with backup, restoration, and monitoring solutions
- Familiarity with containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, LXC, or similar
- Knowledge of automation and configuration tools, primarily Ansible
- Awareness of cybersecurity, hardening, and vulnerability management issues
- Familiarity with CI/CD environments is appreciated
- Ability to automate tasks using Bash and/or Python scripting
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Centreon, Grafana, or Zabbix is a plus
- Knowledge of LDAP, PKI/IGC, or SIEM is appreciated
- Good command of technical English
