Position

About the Job:
We’re hiring an Integration Engineer to lead the design, development, and ongoing operation of our external system integrations. In this role, you won’t just wire up APIs; you’ll build resilient, idempotent, and observable pipelines that maintain data integrity across asynchronous systems, even when partners are unstable.
This is a systems engineering role with a strong focus on operational correctness. You’ll work at the intersection of backend engineering and platform reliability, ensuring that every integration, whether synchronous or event-based, is secure, debuggable, and fault-tolerant. You'll collaborate closely with our backend, operations, and data teams to ensure integrations behave predictably, recover gracefully, and support critical business workflows with high confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain integrations with third-party APIs across REST, webhook, and any supported protocols.
  • Ensure idempotency and deduplication are enforced across retries and failure recovery flows.
  • Implement sync strategies when necessary or push-based, contract-driven integrations wherever supported.
  • Own the full operational lifecycle: onboarding new integrations, managing versioning and schema drift, and continuously improving reliability.
  • Build robust error handling, rate limiting, and circuit breaker patterns to contain failures and isolate faults.
  • Define and maintain structured logging, tracing, and metrics to make integrations debuggable and auditable.
  • Lead post-incident analysis, root cause identification, and system hardening efforts for any integration-related issues.
  • Work with information security and compliance teams to enforce safe, validated, and auditable data flows.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in backend or systems engineering, ideally in an integration-heavy or partner-facing context.
  • Deep experience working with REST APIs, authentication standards (OAuth2, OpenID Connect), and webhook architectures.
  • Strong understanding of idempotent design, data consistency, and eventual consistency models.
  • Proven ability to work with unstable or inconsistent third-party APIs and still deliver reliable systems.
  • Experience building or maintaining distributed, asynchronous workflows (e.g., Celery, Temporal).
  • Comfort with observability tooling and debugging live systems through logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Familiarity with integration security best practices (e.g., HMAC verification, TLS pinning, access scoping).

Work Conditions:
On-site, Full-time
Location:
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
