Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement integration strategies for healthcare information systems, collaborating with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless interoperability.
- Lead the integration efforts for platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or InterSystems, ensuring the efficient exchange of data and information across various healthcare applications.
- Design and implement solutions for health information exchange, fostering communication and data sharing between disparate systems and healthcare providers.
- Stay abreast of healthcare interoperability standards and industry best practices, ensuring that integration solutions align with current regulations and guidelines.
- Oversee and build a project team.
- Design, develop, and test interfaces between different healthcare and non-healthcare systems, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with industry standards.
- Provide expertise and support during the implementation of integrated healthcare systems, collaborating with project managers, IT teams, and end-users to ensure successful deployment.
- Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting integration-related issues, conducting root cause analyses, and working closely with technical teams for effective problem resolution.
- Implement quality assurance measures for healthcare data exchange, including data validation, error handling, and monitoring to ensure the integrity of integrated systems.
Background, Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Hands-on experience with healthcare information systems integration, particularly with Epic, Cerner, or InterSystems, in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, such as HL7, FHIR, and CCD.
- Previous experience in the implementation of integrated healthcare systems, including data migration and interface development.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python) and interface engines.
- Project management skills, including the ability to create and execute integration project plans, manage budgets, and lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and a commitment to data security and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
- Previous implementation experience and working in a hospital environment.
- Proven experience as an Integration Specialist, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years.
