This internship offers a unique opportunity to discover the offshore installation industry, a highly specialized field that is rarely covered in academic curricula. As a leading provider of offshore energy solutions, the company is involved in the design, construction, and installation of complex offshore assets, including FPSOs and Floating Wind developments. Offshore installation is a critical phase in the successful delivery of these projects.
As projects move into deeper waters and more challenging environments, installation operations become increasingly complex and require innovative methodologies supported by advanced engineering tools and operational data. To strengthen its offshore installation capabilities, the company has invested in a next-generation installation vessel scheduled for delivery in 2029. This state-of-the-art asset will play a key role in the execution of future offshore energy projects.

Responsibilities
During the first phase of the internship, you will be integrated into ongoing engineering studies and operational projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will:

  • Explore real-life offshore installation case studies;
  • Interact with engineering, project, and operational specialists;
  • Learn and apply industry tools and engineering methodologies;
  • Present findings and recommendations during regular sprint reviews.

Building on this foundation, you will contribute to the development and optimization of offshore installation methodologies for the company's future installation vessel. Your tasks may include:

  • Defining installation concepts and execution methodologies;
  • Supporting installation schedule development;
  • Participating in engineering studies related to vessel capabilities and operations;
  • Analyzing operational constraints and opportunities for performance improvement;
  • Conducting benchmark and competitiveness assessments against the company's existing fleet and industry standards.
    You will collaborate directly with experienced installation engineers, operational managers, and offshore field engineers, who will provide technical guidance while challenging your analyses and proposals.

Requirements
We are looking for a Master's-level engineering student with a strong interest in complex engineering projects and offshore operations.
Preferred background:

  • Mechanical Engineering;
  • Naval Architecture / Hydrodynamics;
  • Ocean Engineering;
  • Data Science or Applied Mathematics.

Required competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Interest in multidisciplinary engineering environments;
  • Ability to understand and integrate various engineering disciplines into a global operational vision;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Additional assets:

  • Programming skills, particularly in Python;
  • Interest in data analysis and engineering digitalization tools.
