Internship - Software Developer

Work Conditions: On-site, Full-time, Paid Internship
Location: Sharjah, Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates

Responsibilities:
Esri interns contribute to real projects and are mentored by team members along the way. Some of our technically-oriented interns have worked on a wide range of exciting projects, such as:

• Researching state-of-the-art methods or approaches that can be used to improve the software or solve new problems.
• Helping design, test, and document new functionality in ArcGIS products.
• Developing use cases that demonstrate the value of spatial analysis in solving important societal problems.
• Writing blog posts or learning lessons that explain how to use ArcGIS to accomplish specific goals.
• Being part of building the world’s leading GIS software from the ground up.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of GIS and remote sensing.
• Excellent test engineering and problem-solving skills.
• Strong development skills using Java, C#, or Python.
• A desire and ability to learn new skills and contribute to producing quality commercial software.

Recommended Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS.
• Experience with JUnit, CppUnit, Selenium, or other testing frameworks.
• Experience with remote sensing and image processing.
• Familiarity with raster and imagery data formats.
