Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems or issues related to computer software and systems.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to resolve business problems.
- Analyze, recommend, and implement process improvements.
- Enter commands and activate controls on computer and peripheral equipment to integrate and operate equipment.
- Troubleshoot, modify, support, manage, and maintain application programs and user accounts.
- Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems, and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
- Train or instruct users in the proper use of hardware or software.
- Manage and coordinate planning, design, operations, maintenance, and resource allocation of telecommunications activities, including client/server support and strategic and tactical planning.
- Consult with and advise others on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods related to telecommunications.
- Assist the Director of IT in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining, and motivating employees; serve as a role model and point of contact of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues; support the team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to other employees' concerns.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost savings.
- Visually verify information.
- Enter and locate information using computers/Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Essential Functions
- Maintain clear communication and information exchange between hotel hosts to ensure optimum sharing of technology issues and solutions.
- Ensure the smooth running of Simphony Point of Sale System, Opera PMS, and other application systems by providing first-level support for proprietary hardware to minimize system downtime.
- Maintain all company IT policies and procedures, IT contingency plan, Global security policies, and Media handling standards.
- Assist and train hosts in operating new equipment and maintain them regularly, either in-house or with supplier assistance.
- Assist guests with all High-Speed Internet Access (HSIA) needs.
- Supervise the error-free operation of the intranet system for sending employee and guest information to Abu Dhabi police.
- Attend promptly to maintenance requirements from departments and individual users concerning software and IT hardware operating issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT
- Related Work Experience: 2 years of related work experience in a luxury hotel
