Position

The company is currently looking for an IT Defect Specialist for our operations in the UAE. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with 3–7 years of experience in defect management, QA, or related IT quality roles. Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, QA methodologies, and defect workflows is essential, as well as experience with defect tracking tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow. Candidates must demonstrate analytical abilities to interpret quality metrics, possess strong communication skills, and should be comfortable working in high-pressure situations, especially during release cycles. Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with automation frameworks or DevOps pipelines is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle, including logging, classification, triage, prioritization, tracking, and closure.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of defects with all necessary technical and business details.
  • Facilitate defect triage meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Assign defects to the appropriate teams for timely resolution.
  • Identify defect trends, resolve recurring issues, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
  • Monitor critical and high-severity defects for rapid resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards for quality, impact assessment, and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Support post-release defect reviews and identify process improvements.
  • Collaborate with QA teams in test execution and defect validation.
  • Work closely with development teams for prompt fixes and retesting.
  • Communicate defect status and risks to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain defect dashboards and analyze quality metrics (e.g., defect density, leakage, aging).
  • Provide insights into defect health and quality for ongoing and upcoming releases.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for defect root causes.
  • Recommend enhancements to defect management processes and tools.
  • Advocate for best practices in defect prevention and quality engineering within Agile environments.
  • Assist in integrating defect management into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
