The company is seeking an IT Infrastructure & HW Engineer to contribute to the specification, design, implementation, testing, and support of the IT infrastructure in assigned projects within the UAE. This position plays a crucial role in delivering project deliverables concerning the IT Infrastructure, including system requirements, design documents, requests for quotations, interface documents, installation and maintenance procedures, and test reports.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Analyze user and system requirements, specifying requirements for the IT and HW infrastructure.
- Work with DevOps and Integration & Test teams to define specifications for implementation.
- Collaborate with the CAD team to review single-line, wiring, and installation drawings.
- Interface with suppliers and subcontractors to define hardware specifications and scopes of work.
- Follow up on production, acceptance tests, and delivery; manage obsolescence.
- Present requirements and specifications to the Infrastructure team.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint planning & Review, Daily, Retrospective).
- Prepare Bill of Materials and Definition files (electrical and mechanical drawings).
- Follow up on procurement of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.
- Prepare training materials and conduct training for peers and customers.
- Attend site surveys and prepare reports; specify and supervise hardware and safety audits.
- Conduct internal and customer technical meetings.
Technologies:
- RS232, RS422, discrete signaling, Ethernet, and electrical cabling.
- Electrical Mechanical CAD drawing (AutoCad, Cadence).
- Networking technologies including Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, and Fortinet.
- Datacenter standards (TIA-942) and systems involving power, structured cabling, and UPS.
- Radio communication systems (military radios or professional mobile radios).
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical design capacity (IT/HW engineering).
- Experience in the military or defense industry is preferred.
- Proven experience leading engineering activities through design lifecycle and platform installation.
- Understanding of EMC fundamentals, low voltage directive, and CE marking.
- Experience in IT infrastructure project lifecycles: requirements, design, implementation, installation, testing, and handover.
Qualification and Educational Requirements:
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
- Qualifications in IT Infrastructure subsystems (network, communication, datacenter, software integration, etc.).
- Preferred certifications in VMware and Linux System Administration.
- High fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of French and/or Arabic is advantageous.
Preferred Skills:
- Technical document writing and requirements management.
- Excellent technical analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate with external contractors and suppliers.
- Customer-facing skills for meetings/presentations.
