Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree.
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in IT Operations.
Scope of the Job
- Running all operation tasks on all mission critical Banking applications.
- Monitor and ensure service availability for 24x7 hours.
- Take Data Backup of all Business Applications.
- Ensure data replication from main sites to the DR site (Bahrain and London).
- Escalate user-reported and system/application faults.
- Take over first-level help desk responsibility after normal working hours.
- Support other IT teams.
Areas of Knowledge / Experience
- Data Center Operations experience in monitoring, incident handling, and escalation.
- Should have worked in the Banking domain / Financial institutions.
- Working knowledge of databases like Oracle, SQL Server.
- IT Certifications in Windows, Linux, SQL, etc. will be an added advantage.
- Non-IT certifications like ITIL are a plus.
Principal Responsibilities
- Running IT operations such as End of Days, Start of Day, Backups, Restores, and replication.
- Knowledge of bank operation procedures to provide support 24/7.
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, Solaris, and Linux.
- Understanding hardware components and their functions.
- Awareness of bank data replication procedures.
- Proficient in using Help Desk applications.
- Capable of managing and maintaining Backup/Restore procedures.
- Monitoring database performance and tuning memory, I/O, SQL, etc. and escalating when necessary.
- Conducting database recovery in case of failure.
- Knowledge of activating and operating disaster recovery centers.
- Monitoring and escalating database growth and disk space issues.
- Monitoring and escalating alert log files for possible database problems.
- Monitoring offline & online cold backups using Veritas NetBackup and VEEAM software.
- Monitoring alerts and job flows on Control-M.
