Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree.
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in IT Operations.
Scope of the Job
- Running all operational tasks on all mission-critical Banking applications.
- Monitor and ensure service availability 24x7 hours.
- Data Backup of all Business Applications.
- Ensure data replication from main sites to the DR site (Bahrain and London).
- Escalate user-reported issues and system/application faults.
- Take over first-level help desk responsibilities after normal working hours.
- Support other IT teams as needed.
Areas of Knowledge / Experience
- Data Center Operations experience, including monitoring, incident handling, and escalation.
- Experience in the Banking domain or with Financial institutions is essential.
- Working knowledge of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- IT Certifications in Windows, Linux, SQL, etc., will be an added advantage.
- Non-IT certifications like ITIL are a plus.
Principal Responsibilities
- Running IT operations including End of Days, Start of Day, Backups, Restores, and replication processes.
- Providing support to the Bank based on knowledge of bank operation procedures, available around the clock.
- Operating systems knowledge including Windows, Solaris, and Linux.
- Understanding hardware components and their functions.
- Familiarity with bank data replication procedures.
- Ability to use Help Desk applications effectively.
- Management and maintenance of Backup / Restore procedures.
- Monitoring database performance, tuning memory, I/O, and SQL, and escalating when necessary.
- Conducting database recovery in the event of failure.
- Activation and operation knowledge of disaster recovery centers.
- Monitoring and escalating database growth and disk space issues.
- Monitoring alert log files for potential database problems.
- Overseeing offline and online cold backups using Veritas NetBackup and VEEAM software.
- Monitoring alerts and job flows on Control-M.
