Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree.
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in IT Operations.
Scope of the Job
- Running all operation tasks on all mission-critical Banking applications.
- Monitor and ensure service availability for 24x7 hours.
- Perform data backups of all Business Applications.
- Ensure data replication from main sites to the DR site (Bahrain and London).
- Escalate user-reported and system/application faults.
- Take over first-level help desk responsibilities after normal working hours.
- Support other IT teams.
Areas of Knowledge / Experience
- Experience in Data Center Operations, including monitoring, incident handling, and escalation.
- Background in the Banking domain or with financial institutions.
- Working knowledge of databases like Oracle and SQL Server.
- IT Certifications in Windows, Linux, SQL, etc., are an added advantage.
- Non-IT certifications like ITIL are a plus.
Principal Responsibilities
- Manage IT operations including End of Days, Start of Day, backups, restores, and data replication.
- Provide round-the-clock support with knowledge of bank operation procedures.
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, Solaris, and Linux.
- Understand hardware components and their functions.
- Be knowledgeable about bank data replication procedures.
- Utilize Help Desk applications effectively.
- Manage and maintain Backup / Restore procedures.
- Monitor database performance and tune memory, I/O, and SQL; escalate when necessary.
- Execute database recovery in case of failure.
- Activate and operate the disaster recovery centers.
- Monitor and escalate database growth and disk space issues.
- Monitor alert log files for potential database problems.
- Oversee offline and online cold backups using Veritas NetBackup and VEEAM software.
- Monitor alerts and job flows on Control-M.
