Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field preferred
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) required
  • Advanced certifications such as Advanced CSM (A-CSM), PSM II, or PSM III highly preferred

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile role
  • Experience working with project teams in an IT environment
  • Proven track record of successfully facilitating Scrum for multiple teams

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of Scrum framework, agile principles, and values
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and technical practices
  • Experience with agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of agile metrics and reporting techniques
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) is beneficial
  • Awareness of other agile frameworks such as Kanban, XP, SAFe, or LeSS

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Ensure ceremonies are productive, time-boxed, and focused on achieving their intended outcomes
  • Coach the team on self-organization and cross-functionality to maximize value delivery
  • Guide the team in creating well-defined sprint goals and realistic sprint commitments
  • Ensure transparency of team progress and work through proper use of Scrum artifacts
  • Identify, track, and proactively remove impediments that block team progress
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and help the team navigate challenges
  • Address team dysfunction and guide teams toward effective collaboration
  • Partner with the IT Business Partner/Product Owner to maintain a healthy, prioritized product backlog
  • Ensure user stories are well-defined, estimated, and ready for sprint planning
