The IT Systems Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for delivering enterprise-level IT support and maintenance of various IT services within the organization. This role requires effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of company infrastructure and systems, using engineering tools and processes. The position involves working independently and utilizing troubleshooting skills to research and resolve issues of medium-to-complex natures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and maintain new hardware or software to provide new services or resolve user and system problems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and system analysis to resolve incidents and ensure system availability.
  • Conduct system administration tasks including configuration, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Test and validate new systems to ensure they fulfill requested functionality and quality.
  • Implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure the necessary availability.
  • Perform system monitoring for proactive support by collecting availability, performance metrics, and system logs.
  • Conduct hardware or software upgrades and patching to support vulnerability and risk management.
  • Define, raise, and execute changes as part of the Change Management Process.
  • Create and manage tickets for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, and Request Fulfillment.
  • Document work results, actions taken, steps to resolve issues, effort, and resolution time in the ticketing system.
  • Identify and suggest possible service improvements.
  • Collaborate with vendors or other delivery organizations when needed to provide the appropriate level of support.
  • Work with senior team members for guidance on working procedures and technical possibilities.

Required Knowledge and Attributes:

  • Strong knowledge of key infrastructure technology or software, including Office 365, Microsoft Windows Servers, VMware, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting with a good technical understanding.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical content to senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of ITIL support processes (Incident, Change, and Request Management).
  • Ability to understand the business processes delivered by the managed system.
  • Capability to research and evaluate new technologies to enhance service outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate information and identify the best solutions to problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in utilizing key systems and tools related to information technology.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Microsoft Certifications are preferred.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in IT Systems.
