You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of IT/HW infrastructure for critical projects, encompassing everything from initial requirements and design to installation, testing, and handover. This position requires expertise in hardware specifications, network technologies, and datacenter standards, preferably within the military or defense sector.
Key Responsibilities & Activities:
- Design & Documentation: Create essential project documents including system requirements, high-level and low-level design specifications, installation/maintenance procedures, and test reports.
- Requirements Management: Analyze user/system needs to derive specifications for IT and HW infrastructure.
- Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, Integration & Test teams, and CAD teams to provide input and review for documentation.
- Supplier/Subcontractor Interface: Define hardware specifications, manage Requests for Quotation (RFQ), and oversee production and delivery.
- Lifecycle Management: Engage in obsolescence management and all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Agile Participation: Actively partake in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, and Retrospectives.
- Procurement & Training: Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), follow up on COTS procurement, and conduct training for peers and customers.
- Testing & Audits: Define and conduct hardware/installation acceptance tests, and supervise hardware and safety audits.
Technologies & Domains You Will Work With:
- Communication: RS232, RS422, discrete signaling, Ethernet, electrical cabling.
- CAD: Electrical Mechanical CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Cadence).
- Networking/Compute: Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet, Dell server, and storage bay technologies.
- Datacenter: Structured cabling, power systems (UPS), data/server cabinets, environmental requirements (e.g., TIA-942 standards).
- Radio: Experience with military radios or professional mobile radio (PMR) systems.
Must-Have Required Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a technical design capacity (IT/HW Engineering) and engineering development lifecycles.
- Industry Expertise: Proven experience in leading engineering activities through design lifecycle and platform installation, preferably in the military or defense sectors.
- System Integration: Familiarity with radio communication systems (VHF/UHF).
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in server, storage, virtualization, and network domains.
- Security: Experience implementing IT security controls (endpoint protection, PKI, server hardening, network security).
- Compliance: Understanding of EMC fundamentals, Low Voltage Directive, and CE marking.
- Education: BSc in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
- Language: High fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Qualifications in IT Infrastructure subsystems (network, communication, datacenter, virtualization, software integration, etc.).
- Relevant certifications such as VMware and Linux System Administration.
- Proficiency in French and/or Arabic is a strong advantage.
