About the Role The company is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our Finance Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid accounting foundation looking to grow within an established trading and distribution company. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Accountant and the Accounts Payable & Receivable team, supporting daily accounting operations and maintaining accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities - Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and follow up on outstanding payments. - General Ledger & Journal Entries: Maintain and update daily journal entries, general ledger accounts, and expense tracking. Reconcile corporate card spending and post expenses in the accounting system. - Intercompany Accounting: Post intercompany entries and perform monthly reconciliations. - Bank & Account Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate/resolve any discrepancies in transactions. - Compliance & Auditing: Support VAT/tax filings and assist in preparations for internal or external audits. - Reporting: Help generate weekly and monthly financial reports. Requirements - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Experience: 1-2 years of hands-on accounting experience (experience in a trading, wholesale, or distribution company is a strong plus). Technical Skills: - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables). - Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Tally, and Zoho Books). Competencies: - Strong numerical accuracy and analytical mindset. - High level of integrity, confidentiality, and organizational skills. - Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced trading environment.
